The US News & World Report have been compiling the best and most renowned American college and university rankings since 1983 and is based upon the information and data collected by the U.S.News from educational institutions through surveys or from the website of the school. Opinion surveys are also conducted among the university faculty.
The individual school order changes quite significantly every year based on peer assessment, reputation of the institution gained from guidance counselor, the rate of retention of students, the faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources calculated by per student spending, and alumni giving rate. These are given statistical weight.
